/01 Project Overview
Engineered an enterprise-grade API gateway serving as the unified entry point for a distributed microservices ecosystem. Handles traffic shaping, cryptographic authentication, dynamic reverse proxy routing, and reliable webhook delivery with exponential backoff retries.
/02 The Challenge
Protecting downstream microservices from cascading failures during viral traffic spikes while guaranteeing sub-20ms proxy latency.
/03 The Solution
Implemented sliding-window distributed rate limiting using Redis, non-blocking asynchronous routing in Node.js, dead-letter queues for failed webhooks, and full OpenAPI 3.0 specification validation.
